Together Housing and Vico Homes explore merger

Together Housing Group and Vico Homes are exploring a potential merger, with their boards considering whether to join as one organisation.

The process is at an early stage, the two organisations say. Next steps include developing a business case and carrying out further detailed due diligence. No final decision has been made.

The two landlords said a merger could create greater capacity to invest in safe, well-maintained homes, repairs, customer services and local neighbourhoods.

Martyn Shaw, chief executive of Vico Homes, said: “We’re carefully considering whether we can achieve more together than we could on our own. Our focus remains on providing what our customers need, investing in homes, supporting colleagues and local communities.

“We have bold ambitions for the future and this could support us in achieving them.

“No final decision has been made, and we’ll make sure colleagues, customers and stakeholders are kept informed as the process develops.”

Kevin Ruth, chief executive of Together Housing Group, said: “Together Housing Group and Vico Homes share a strong commitment to providing excellent homes, outstanding services and supporting the communities we serve.

“We are exploring whether coming together could help us go further and faster for residents, while creating a stronger and more resilient organisation for the future.”
